Communicating With Your Maid about House Cleaning

Cleaning a house on your own can be an exhausting process, so finding a competent maid can be no less than blessing in disguise. However, finding the right maid is easier said than done. The thing to remember is that you need to find someone who is not only affordable and good at what she does but she is also trustworthy. After all, she will be spending that much time at your place, it only makes sense that you need to find someone who would not be stealing things from your place later.

1Before you hire a maid for good, there are a number of things you should keep in mind. Do not just settle for any maid because she is coming through somebody’s reference or her charges fall within your budget; there are so many other things that you need to take into consideration before you finally choose a maid. And the best way to get all the relevant information that you require before you decide on anything is to communicate with the maid herself.

So your maid knows how to clean the house, but what is she cleaning with is also an important aspect of the question which often goes ignored. Many cleaning products contain chemicals which can actually do a lot of damage to your furniture so you need to know in advance what cleaning agents the maid is going to be using. If you prefer all the cleaning agents to be all natural, make it a point to tell it to the maid beforehand.

The experience of a maid also counts for a lot because someone who has been in the cleaning business for several years is more likely to provide you with better cleaning services because she already knows the ropes. Again, how honest someone is being can be difficult to gauge simply just by listening to them. Whatever maid service business you have contacted, it is always a good idea to ask them for any previous testimonials available on that particular maid which you wish to hire. You could read the testimonials and see what reviews she has gotten from other clients that she has worked for.

You should also ask for the maid’s insurance and other details so that you remain protected against civil litigation just in case the maid gets hurt while working at your place. Questions related to the maid’s payment policy are also equally important. Does she charge per hour, days or per weeks? What about transport; is she going to come and go on her own or would you be required to arrange something for that?

These are just some of the important questions that you should ask your maid before you officially hire her so that you don’t end up regretting your decision later.
