Army of Maids Gives Back

A portion of all Army of Maids profits will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. For every job completed, a donation will be made to this wonderful charity to help feed the hungry. Being born and raised in Central Florida, I wanted to make sure that when creating Army of Maids we made it a goal to support local charities that give back to the community. We are proud to use Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida as our charity of choice due to their amazing track record and community service. One of the most effective ways to help provide food for hungry children, seniors, homeless, disabled, working poor families and others in crisis is to make a financial contribution to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

More than 30 million pounds of food and grocery products distributed by the Food Bank each year is donated, there are many substantial costs that must be covered for their mission to continue. Financial support helps them defray the cost of transporting, receiving, and distributing millions of pounds of food per year, enabling them to keep the food flowing to more than 500 nonprofit feeding programs across Central Florida.

We are proud of the fact that 96% of all financial contributions go directly to programs feeding our hungry neighbors rather than to administration or fundraising (Source: IRS form 990).

For every dollar donated, Second Harvest Food Bank can provide up to $9 in food value for people in need. Imagine having that kind of multiplier effect on your own grocery bill each week! Your gift is a powerful investment in hope. So how can Second Harvest Food Bank provide such a remarkable return on investment? Simple math. The nearly 33 million pounds of donated food and groceries that their organization distributed last year had a retail value of approximately $63 million. The operating costs to provide that value to the community was just over $7 million. They can figure the return by simply dividing the retail value by their costs to provide the products, and that is how they calculate a 1 to 9 ratio of return on investment.
